You probably read last week that Amazon has officially asked the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to use unmanned aerial vehicles, known as drones, for parcel delivery… in 30 minutes or less. The company is reported to be in the process of developing unmanned aerial vehicles as part of its Amazon Prime Air program, which will carry parcels weighing just over 2 kg over a distance of 80 km. The company states that 86% of parcels they book weigh less than 2.26 km.
